Fair Players of Layered Illusion is an idea that developed from my love of the works of Shakespeare. If you would like to view a quick documentary of the shoot, click on 'read more' to get more info and the video player.
I have always wanted to create a concept for a fashion feature with a difference. I wanted to shoot fashion that had more to it than appearances. Somehow I landed upon the idea to depict the more famous heroines of Shakespeare's works. Initially I had a visual in mind of one scene only, the scene of Ophelia's death. The other images started to come to mind after I did a bit more research into the history and dynamics behind here character. My concept was not only to study the tragic heroines of Shakespeare, but to create an argument around the relevance of these woman as archetypes both historically and currently.
Here is a quick look at behind the scenes.
